A milestone was achieved when Jamshedpur Women’s College started the B.Sc. (IT) Course in 2008. We train the prospective IT Professionals to shoulder the responsibility of the future generation firmly yet with sensitivity and to value discipline as the bedrock of success. They are provided with every opportunity toexplore their potentials and to grow into strong, empowered individuals capable of leading changes in society.
The College provides an academic experience, to help students concretize their plans for the future and to face challenges in life with confidence. At the same time the environment in the campus is tuned to foster understanding and tolerance among the divergent groups of students.
Jamshedpur Women’s College, Jamshedpur (A Constituent Autonomous College), with Potential for Excellence awarded by UGC and Graded ‘A’ by NAAC is a premier College of the newly created state of Jharkhand committed to the cause of Women’s education, development and upliftment. It has come a long and luminous way, starting from its inception in 1953. The vision and dream that its Founder Principal, Mrs. Perin C. Mehta had nurtured and worked hard for its present manifestation as a prestigious college for women in this region, catering educational, cultural and development services to the women of all categories. Located in an area of sprawling 5.334 acre of land , the college comprises five blocks of buildings housing the faculties of B.Sc.(IT) , Science, Arts , Commerce , Library , a couple of Hostels besides the play ground and the parking space .
The college has implemented several self financing an Add-On Courses relevant to the regional and national needs to ensure that the students get fully versed in the latest trends, technologies and techniques to galvanize its motto of Women Empowerment.
In its glorious march through the years it has notched up many a milestone. The starting of the B.Sc. (IT) by the Faculty Information Technology of the College, being an important one conducted under the self financing scheme. This course has received recognition from UGC under Kolhan University from the session 2009-10 onwards. This course was initially started under the Ranchi University in the year 2008. The prime objective is to meet the market requirements for various jobs available in the global IT world and enhance the employability of the women of Jharkhand so that women empowerment becomes a reality.

Inspired with the spirit of the motto, “We shall find a way or we shall make a one” Jamshedpur Women’s College nurtures its students into individuals strong value based convictions , sensitive to social environmental concerns and capable of leading chances to shape society to the needs of its citizens . The vision that motivates the college is to reach and retain global standards of excellence in Education, training and research by focusing resources on infrastructure, procuring networking country wide and improving the diversity of the student’s interest and skills.
Empowerment of women, through education, has been the single-minded mission of this College ever since its establishment. Duration:3 years full time B.Sc. (IT) Vocational Course.
The Prospectus with Application Form can be obtained by payment of Rs 300 only in cash at the college counter or through online at website: www.jsrwomenscollege.ac.in The dully filled in application form should be submitted along with attested Xerox copies of mark sheet (I.Sc) admit card, Caste Certificate (ST/SC/OBC) and two self attested envelopes of 25*11 cm size with a stamp of Rs. 5/ pasted on it.
Intermediate Science or 10 + 2 Science with a minimum of 45% marks and Mathematics as one of the compulsory subject is eligible to take admission to the B.Sc. (IT) Course.
Reservation policies are followed as per Kolhan University rules.
