Sports Achievements

Jamshedpur Women’s College has touched many a glorious peak in 2010 in Sports, and marked an excellent beginning to add yet another chapter of remarkable achievement in the already glowing sports record of college.

In disciplines such as Archery, Handball and Tennis Ball Cricket, students of our College has reached the pinnacle. In Tennis Ball Cricket, Usha Kumari, Rinki Kumari and Farhat Naz have emerged as Winner in 4th Asia Cup, Nepal. In the event of Handball the lone achievement of Pano Mardi in Asian Championship, China, deserves prominent mention as she qualified in the 6th position. In Archery our college has a brilliant track record in which Bhagyabati Chanu and Jhanu Hansda, added a glittering chapter of success by achieving Bronze in Commonwealth Game, New Delhi. We know that this is just a beginning and we look forward to yet more brilliant journey ahead.

Worthy of mentioned is also the fact that ex-students of our college are working as India Coach too. Purnima Mahato is archery coach and Poonam Roy is Handball Coach. R. Teja is also an ex-student of the college who is India coach in Tennis ball cricket and who is also our college coach. Mr. Harender Kumar & Mr. R.K. Singh of Tata Steel are also working as Coach in our College whom the college has hired.

The Contribution of such excellent coaches is also remarkable in the History of College Sports, in gaining glorious entry in both National & International Field.
